COMMUNITY HEALTH IMPROVEMENT

The health of each community is a priority for healthcare organizations, with health screening services playing a major role in raising awareness among different populations about important health issues like heart disease, stroke, obesity and diabetes.

At Cardinal Pointe, we work closely with our client’s to strategically place automated, self-service health screening kiosks in each community to seek and detect disorders or risk factors in seemingly healthy persons.

SCREENING OBJECTIVES

The 2 major objectives of our screening programs are: (1) detection of disease at a stage when treatment can be more effective than it would be after the patient develops signs and symptoms, and (2) identification of risk factors that increase the likelihood of developing the disease and use of this knowledge to improve outcomes.

OUR FOCUS ON BLOOD PRESSURE AND WHY?

  • Blood pressure is one of the most important screenings because high blood pressure usually has no symptoms so it can't be detected without being measured. High blood pressure greatly increases your risk of heart disease and stroke.
  • BP screening programs provide a cost?effective and WHL?endorsed intervention to improve the rates of hypertension detection, control, and treatment, with the goal of reducing cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.
  • Hypertension is an important modifiable risk factor for stroke and cardiovascular disease and is a major risk factor for mortality globally.

Note, the health station kiosk program qualifies as a community benefit expenditure for non-profit organizations.
